Bookshelf exports to foreign markets increase in January 2007
During last three months, the wooden bookshelf has exported to foreign markets. The demands of products increase reach 2,000 pieces per month. Up to these days, many bookshelf products were exported to Canada. A craftsmen, I Kadek Ana said recently, now the product made of albesia wood is interested by foreign costumers that can be seen from the increasing of costumer’s orders. Previously, the demands of the product only 1,500 pieces per month that increase become 2,000 pieces per month in January 2007.
He said, as well as to Canada, the products also export to several European countries such as Italy, French, and Netherlands. “There are potential markets of bookshelf made of albesia wood,” he added. “During this time the products offer with the price reach Rp 50,000 till Rp 500,000 per pieces,” he said. He explained, bookshelf made of albesia wood has different motifs and designs than other products that make the costumers’ demand to the products increase, although the material price increase gradually in markets.
“The demand of the products are full, but we afraid if the price of material in market increases, because this will make our turnover decrease,” he said, while added, as well as bookshelf, the demand of bottle casing, and CD rack also increase.
He explained, up to these days, many craftsmen use albesia wood to create handicrafts products than other material, because the price of albesia wood is not expensive and it also has a good quality
